Lavender

Lavandula is a genus of the mint family, Lamiaceae, native to the western Mediterranean. The flowers are produced on spikes atop slender stems. Lavender flowers are lovely to look at and soothing to smell. Few plants are more well known for their scent than lavender, it has perfumed our homes and bodies for more than 2,000 years.

Both flowers and leaves are used in herbal medicine, either in the form of lavender oil or as an herbal tea to soothe nerves and digestion. Lavender/purple and white wedding themes are very popular with brides and stunning centrepieces and table arrangements can be created using lavender and almost any white flower.
