Delphinium

Delphinium, commonly called larkspur, is a genus of the buttercup family Ranunculaceae and native to the Northern Hemisphere and the high mountains of tropical Africa. The name is derived from the Greek word 'delphis' meaning "dolphin" suggested by the shape of the buds. They are one of the few flowers that offer a true blue colour bloom.

Their stately spikes of showy flowers make them invaluable for adding height to big, bold table arrangements.;Delphiniums are used extensively in cut form in wedding flowers. Delphinium Elatum is available in shades of blue, lilac, pink and white. Delphinium belladonna 'Volkerfrieden' available in blue.
